Jerry Maguire is a successful sports agent. The biggest clients, the respect, a beautiful fiancée, he has it all. Until one night he questions his purpose. His place in the world, and finally comes to terms with what's wrong with his career and life. Recording all his thoughts in a mission statement Jerry feels he has a new lease on life. Unfortunately his opinions aren't met with enthusiasm from his superiors and after dishonorably being stripped of his high earning clients and elite status within the agency Jerry steps out into the sports business armed with only one volatile client and the only person with belief in his abilities with the impossible task of rebuilding what he once had.
This is one of my favorites. I always watch it quite often. There are so many lessons that can be learn from the film. However, two of those are to me the most relevant ones, and perhaps this is because I felt once like jerry myself. "I have lost my ability to bullshit". In fact this is an important one, since most managers all what they want is more revenues. The more you sell the less the quality you provide. "few customer, better work, better life". This quote is crucial. However, do never mention this to your boss unless you want to become a freelance!
A great film to watch. It is all about morale, values, trust, friendship and relations, and above all, to believe on yourself.
